Rounds

Conversations are uploaded periodically.

Rounds is a collection of conversations with artists, curators, writers, organisers, and cultural workers who share an interest in building alternative cultural infrastructures for critical engagement within New Zealand and beyond. Rounds approaches conversation as a method of inquiry where ideas can be tested and shift, and the conditions shaping contemporary cultural work can be thought about in real time.

Unlike the fixed logic of the essay, the conversational model allows thought to unfold without certainty of outcome. Its value lies precisely in not knowing where we will arrive. A conversation can spiral, hesitate, contradict itself, or move toward unexpected ideas that neither participant anticipated. Rounds treats this openness as a critical methodology capable of producing forms of knowledge that might only emerge through exchange.
