Paul Johns (b. Ōtautahi Christchurch) is an Aotearoa New Zealand conceptual artist whose practice spans film, photography, film, neon and installation.

Johns studied at the University of Canterbury School of Fine Arts, graduating in 1974. His work developed in dialogue with the conceptual and post-object practices transforming art in Aotearoa and internationally during this period.

Johns has exhibited throughout Aotearoa since 1975. Recent presentations include Beautiful Flowers and How to Grow Them, The Dowse Art Museum with City Gallery Wellington; Perilous, Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū, Ōtautahi; Midnight Cowboy, Pah Homestead, Tāmaki Makaurau; Body-Maker, Olga, Ōtepoti; Listening Stones Jumping Rocks, Te Pātaka Toi Adam Art Gallery, Te Whanganui-a-Tara; Been Here Long?, Visions, Tāmaki Makaurau; Paul Johns & Billy Apple, Nadene Milne Gallery, Ōtautahi.

His work is held in public collections including Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki, Te Pātaka Toi Adam Art Gallery, Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū, Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa and Sarjeant Gallery Te Whare o Rehua Whanganui.
